Ms. Mitchell brings over 10 years of educational experience and an HBCU experience.  Ms. Mitchell is a proud graduate of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, where she received her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Mathematics Education.  Ms. Mitchell began her career in education as a 5th grade educator and Title 1 Math Specialist at Atlanta Preparatory Academy in August 2011.  She taught 10th grade Geometry at Benjamin Banneker High School and Norcross High School in Atlanta, Georgia as well.   

In December 2015, Ms. Mitchell began her career in Denver Public Schools as a 7th and 8th grade math educator at Hill Campus of Art & Sciences. She also taught 8th grade algebra and served as the Middle School and High School Math Senior Team Lead for two years at Noel Community Arts School. Regardless of her role, Ms. Mitchell believes all scholars and educators deserve safe spaces where voices are heard and trust is established.
