What a powerful first day of professional development with the incredible educators of Robert F. Smith STEAM Academy!

Today, we unpacked the Five C’s of STEAM, explored how interdisciplinary thinking can shape student learning, and dug deep into our writing standards to strengthen alignment between our SLOs, instructional practices, and the learning experiences we create for students.

The energy, collaboration, laughter, reflection, and commitment in the room reminded me that joy is not separate from the work—it fuels the work. When educators come together with purpose, resilience, and a shared belief in our students, amazing things are possible.

We are building, aligning, learning, and growing together. This is going to be an amazing school year!
